Truth, Justice and Healing Council The Truth, Justice and Healing Council has been established by the Catholic Bishops of Australia and Catholic Religious Australia to coordinate the Church's response to the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse.
The Council is committed to co-operation, openness, and justice and healing for victims of child sexual abuse.
This enables the many organisations that make up the Catholic Church to have "one voice" representing the Church before the Royal Commission. The Council also coordinates the Catholic Church's legal representation to the Royal Commission.
The CEO is Francis Sullivan who is the spokesperson for the Council.
The Council has provided submissions and information to the Royal Commission about policies and procedures to protect children both in the past and currently and also identifying the failures in these systems.
The Council also provides information about intended improvements in these policies and procedures to protect children in the future. The Diocese of Wagga Wagga has contributed information for inclusion in these submissions. For more information about the Truth, Justice and Healing Council click here
